Opening of the Magnificent new Police Headquarters in Hertfordshire

On 8^th September the Lord Lieutenant had the great honour to officially open the magnificent new Police Headquarters in Welwyn to a room full of dignitaries (sadly the only day it has rained in the past few weeks). He spoke about the need for a modern hi-tech facility to allow the force to operate efficiently as is necessary in modern policing. The building was completed on budget and ahead of time by local builder Willmott Dixon and on a tour by the architect the true splendour of this building – which allows officers and staff to relax and train in very pleasant surroundings with views right across the Hertfordshire countryside- was evident.

The Lord Lieutenant said how proud he was that his name will appear in perpetuity on this building
