Lieutenancy visit to Goffs Oak Primary School
DL’s Marion Brown and Lionel Wallace had a very enjoyable visit to Year 6 pupils at Goffs Oak Primary School on 15th October where they talked about the Monarchy, Lieutenancy, Commonwealth and British Values. The pupils were very engaged and had lots of questions. There were very thoughtful group work discussions on the Commonwealth Values and their importance and some great ideas put forward as to what they might need to do to prepare if His Majesty the King were to visit the school. Many thanks to class teacher James Wilkie for all his assistance and preparation.
The school has a strong emphasis on well-being and this is reflected throughout the classrooms and communal spaces. The newly created “Blossom and Bloom” well-being garden was officially opened by the Lord-Lieutenant Robert Voss CBE CStJ in July this year. The last photo shows the “reset” baskets in every classroom which are used by pupils to help regulate and reset their emotions. Marion is pictured with some of the school’s wellbeing ambassadors who support pupils throughout the school by running clubs and activities and also by just being there as a listening ear.
An excellent visit and well done to Bridget Kaal Pastoral and Mental Health Lead
