Armed Forces Day Bricket Wood 2026

Armed Forces Day Bricket Wood 2026
Category : Events

The Lord Lieutenant was represented by Mark Bretton MBE TD DL FCIEx at the Armed Forces Day event at Bricket Wood. It was the third year in succession that Mark had attended what is an ever-growing event. The parish lawns had a range of stands, including a WI tea and cake stall, a florist, live music, representatives from the Reserve Forces, Fire, Police and Ambulance services and cadets.

At 1212, a Dakota, an iconic aircraft, from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight made three passes over the grounds to rapturous applause and cheers from the large crowd. Mark took the salute from the tri-service cadet contingent and raised the Armed Forces flag.

To sum it up, it was a fantastic event and went off very well. The weather could not have been better; the crowd that turned out for this great parish event was one of the largest seen. They were treated to a wonderful display by the army, air force and naval cadets accompanied by scouts, guides, schools, etc., which formed up to march to the flagpole where the Deputy Lieutenant Mark Bretton took the salute. The national Anthem was played, Cheryl Clark sang, others joined in to sing the anthem.

The event was extremely well attended, and thanks are due to John Drinkwater, Bill Pryce and their team for another outstanding afternoon.
