County Air Cadets Competition

The County’s Air Cadet Squadrons took part in the Hertfordshire Wing Field Day competition – in events ranging from the likes of drill, music, aircraft recognition to drone flying. The Lord Lieutenant was represented by Air Vice-Marshal Nick Kurth CBE at the event.  Air Vice-Marshal Nick was most impressed by the drone activities; he said, ‘The skill shown by the Cadets flying the drone around a tricky course was captivating. I give great credit to the Air Cadet syllabus – it has moved with the times and includes topics such as cyber, STEM-related activities and drone piloting. All told, it was a great Field Day Competition and I was most impressed with the high standards shown.’
