Investiture of the Lord Lieutenant’s Cadets 2023
The Lord-Lieutenant held the investiture for his new Cadets at Hertford Castle on 18 September. The ceremony began with the Lord-Lieutenant thanking the outgoing Cadets for the sterling job they did throughout their year of service. The outgoing Cadets gave a short presentation on the highlights of their year, including meetings with members of the Royal Family and attending events across the County. Afterwards, the 2024 cohort of Cadets were appointed in front of their family and friends at this special event in the Lieutenancy calendar.
The Cadets are appointed after a rigorous selection process and represent the very best of their various organisations. This year’s Cadets are:
Sea Cadet Corps Leading Cadet Millie Walker
Army Cadet Force Cadet Sgt Maja Wabich,
RAF Air Cadets Cadet FS Harriet Wade
Berkhamsted CCF Cadet Sgt Ruby Deadman
St Columbus CCF Cadet RSM Josh Watson
St John Cadet Cpl Mia Brown
The Lord-Lieutenant, speaking at the end of the ceremony said “I am delighted to have appointed my latest Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadets and I look forward to working with them over the next 12 months. I am sure that they will have a very memorable year while at the same time assisting me in representing His Majesty across the whole of the County.”
We hope the Cadets enjoy their new, important role supporting the Lord-Lieutenant over the next 12 months.
