Watford Celebrates Armed Forces Day 2026

Bringing Armed Forces’ Week to a conclusion, Watford celebrated Saturday’s Armed Forces’ Day with a commemoration involving a variety of elements – Veterans, Reserves and Cadets.  Air Vice-Marshal Nick Kurth CBE represented the Lord Lieutenant at the event, and also present were fellow Deputy Lieutenants Annie Brewster JP and Luther Blisssett OBE. Several Cadet units attended – 2F Squadron (Watford) Air Cadets and Rickmansworth and Watford Sea Cadets – who added much to the occasion. Also present was Lord Lieutenant Cadet, Leading Cadet Dona Parry, fresh from taking her exams.  Air Vice-Marshal Nick said, ‘Whilst it was a hot day, it was excellent to bring people together from the Armed Forces’ wider community. Thankfully, no-one suffered in the heat!’
