Veterans Visit to the National Memorial Arboretum
Commodore Tim Hennesy DL was honoured to bid farewell to the Dacorum Veterans on their visit to the National Memorial Arboretum on 7th September. After much planning by Hemel Hempstead Rotarian Des Knowles, and the representation of the Lieutenancy offered formal recognition for the years of service represented. Tim was particularly privileged to talk with 98 year old RAF Lancaster wireless operator Roy Briggs, and 97 year old Royal Marine Bert Kocher.
The day was generously supported by the Borough Council, Barnetts Coaches, Waitrose and Tesco.
Tim said – “I was delighted to subsequently read that the day had been a great success. Well done to Des and his supporting team of volunteers”.
