The Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, Her Majesty’s personal representative in the County, sends his deepest condolences to the Royal family and he supports honouring the memories of Her Majesty.
I was deeply saddened to hear the news and deeply touched by this truly remarkable Queen. My closest encounters was working at The Royal Mint, many years ago. I was driven into the palace and told to remain in the car, whilst the coin was taken out to be approved by the Queen. I also saw the changing of the guard from the forecourt. I saw and felt a small touch of her world so different to mine. I was then driven out of the palace and dropped off at the nearest underground station. I also saw the Queen up... Read more
