The Lord-Lieutenant presented the award to Graham Pulsford MD and Fiona Edwards head of sustainability.
John Pulsford Associates Ltd (JPA) was founded in 1974 as an independent family business based in St Albans, Hertfordshire, and currently has 36 staff. JPA designs and provides commercial furniture to the office, education and healthcare sectors. They provide both products and services for the successful design, delivery and decommissioning of innovative workspaces to enable teams and businesses to thrive. All JPA’s activity is underpinned by net zero and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, embedding sustainable development within the whole business model. The strategy is focused on carbon, waste and working with stakeholders, and includes wider collaborations from FISP to the Herts-Go-Green-and-Grow Group. This gives great results for customers, savings of £2m and 333 tons CO2e through furniture re-use/repair, and landfill savings of 800 tonnes (over 30,000 redundant furniture items) through materials recycling.
Also attending were the Mayor of St Albans Anthony Rowlands, MP for St Albans Daisy Cooper and new CEO and Chairman of the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce – Julian Carter and Jeremy Bishop.
