Twelve new magistrates appointed at a ceremony in St Albans

On 6th and 21st November 2025, Karen Trew JP DL represented the Lord-Lieutenant at the two swearing-in ceremonies for 13 new magistrates in Hertfordshire, held at St Albans Crown Court and at Stevenage Magistrates Court respectively.

HHJ Lana Wood, Honorary Recorder for Hertfordshire and Resident Judge at St Albans Crown Court presided over this first event. HHJ Sandeep Kainth, Magistrate Liaison Judge; Bench Chairs Feridun Kadir JP and Stephen Pam JP; and friends, families and other judicial office holders were also in attendance.

Karen Trew JP DL presided over the second event with Bench Chair Feridun Kadir JP and Karen Dervin JP in attendance.

Karen said, ‘They were both lovely events and congratulations to the new Justices of the Peace on their appointments.’
