Mayor of Broxbourne hosts a One Man Show – “Windrush Secret”

On 25th October 2025, Karen Trew DL attended a performance of the powerful and thought-provoking play, “Windrush Secret”, an event hosted by the Mayor of Broxbourne, Cllr Patsy Spears at the Broxbourne Council Offices.

“Windrush Secret” is a one-man show written, performed and directed by Rodriguez King-Dorset and has been performed around the UK and on Broadway to great acclaim.  In “Windrush Secret”, Mr King-Dorset plays three characters: the far-right party leader as well as a Black Caribbean diplomat and a white Home Office staffer, addressing their respective gathered crowds in 2018. The Mayor of Broxbourne’s event was well attended and guests included the High Sheriff of Hertfordshire, Nicholas Buxton, other Mayors in Hertfordshire and residents of the borough. Fundraising from this event will be donated to Windrush Legacies CIC, based in Broxbourne.
