Bricket Wood Armed Forces Day 2025

Mark Bretton MBE TD DL attended the Armed Forces Day celebrations at Brickett Wood. The event was extremely well attended, with stands from around the parish, including the WI cake stall which sold over 200 cakes, a jazz band and singer.  There were also representatives from the Reserve Forces and Cadets.

At 1216, precisely as planned, all heads craned up to the sky to watch a Lancaster Bomber fly several low loops over the site. This was then followed by the Air Training Corps and Army Cadet Force marching onto the parade, where Mark raised the Armed Forces flag and took the salute as they marched off. It was a blistering hot day, and the formalities were followed by a much-needed cold drink and cake from the WI stand.
