Watford Peace Garden Volunteer Awards Presentation and Prayer Gathering

Category : Events

on 15 September 2024, Deputy Lieutenant Adam K Ginder represented the Lord Lieutenant at the Watford Peace Garden Prayer Gathering and Award Ceremony, in Cassiobury Park, Watford. The event was combined with their monthly local inter-faith prayers and reflection service, where representatives from across many different local faiths provided offerings and reflections in this tranquil setting within the Park. The Deputy Lieutenant then presented Certificates of Appreciation to the local volunteers who maintain the garden throughout the year, creating a space for prayer and reflection, as well as a place for sharing religious beliefs and thoughts amongst each other.

After the certificates were presented, the Deputy Lieutenant spoke about the importance of community groups and spaces such as the Watford Peace Garden within Hertfordshire and how important encouraging more to volunteer and help others, while sharing common values across a wide spectrum of religions, is very positive in today’s society. He shared with the group that he was now a follower of their Facebook page and watch their progress as the Garden grows.
