Unveiling of a plaque for QGC at Woollensbrook Cemetery & Crematorium
On 25th May 2022, Karen Trew DL attended an event at Woollensbrook Cemetery & Crematorium to unveil a plaque for the copper birch tree.
This tree was planted as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy, a nationwide tree planning initiative launched to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee.
The tree is the centrepiece of The Meadow, a new area of remembrance and reflection at Woollensbrook. Five beehives and benches will be added shortly to this wild meadow.
Site Manager Martin Langdon said “We know the Queen feels trees are extremely important, so it seemed very apt for us to plant one in honour of her.”
The event was hosted by Site Manager, Martin Langdon, and the staff at Woollensbrook and attended by the members of the public.
After refreshments, we were given a tour of the site and the crematorium.
