Pride of Stevenage 2019

On 28 September 2019, Sally Burton DL represented the Lieutenancy at the Pride of Stevenage Awards 2019. This is a dinner hosted by the Mayor of Stevenage, Councillor Simon Speller, when Sharon Taylor (Leader of the Council) announces the winners in 8 categories: Dedication, Green, Team, Caring, Sporting. Enterprise, Young Star and Judges’ Special Awards. The photos show me with the Mayor and Andy Smith who won the Judges’ Special Award.

The evening is about celebrating some of the local heroes and the great things they are doing for Stevenage and Stevenage people. It attracts many sponsors from local businesses and is a dinner and dancing with a fantastic performance by the children from Footworks School of Dance at the beginning. The Stevenage Youth Mayor Will Sarensen also attends and this year Kate Belinis DL and Neville Reyner DL were also amongst the guests.
