Lieutenancy visit to the St Albans Old People’s Trust
On 26th October 2021, Deputy Lieutenant Akhtar Zaman was delighted to visit and learn about the vital work of a local charity, St Alban’s Old People’s Trust. He met with the Grants Manager Kate Newton and one of the Trustees, Caroline Rolfe.
The St Albans Old People’s Trust is a small independent local charity established in 2000 for the relief of need, hardship and distress and to help local residents over 60 to remain independent and comfortable in their own homes.
The charity awards grants to individuals and groups, usually with the provision of goods and services such as mobility and household aids, replacement cooker, washing machine or fridge, warm clothing or supportive shoes. The provision of services such as help in the home, cleaning, shopping services. Small home adaptions, repairs and payment of utility bills.
