Hertfordshire Lieutenancy visit to Edwinstree Middle School

On 11^th February 2026, Deputy Lieutenants Kate Belinis, Dr John Howie and Karen Trew were delighted to visit Edwinstree Middle School in Buntingford.  They visited each of the four year 7 classes to present and discuss the British Monarchy, British and Commonwealth values and the Hertfordshire Lieutenancy. They were impressed that each class was engaged and knowledgeable and asked many probing and interesting questions. A sword was also a great success!

This was an enjoyable visit and it was great to hear the pupils’ views on the importance of the Commonwealth Values and how each of us can play our part in upholding them. There were also some excellent suggestions as to how they might prepare for a visit by His Majesty the King!
