On 21st June 2025, Luther Blissett OBE DL attended a garden party at the historic Bedford, Morison and Cordery Almshouses in Watford. The event marked the unveiling of an unofficial blue plaque commemorating the almshouses, which date back to 1580 and are among the oldest dwellings in the town.

The celebration also featured the unveiling of a bird table sculpture by Nicholas Buxton, the High Sheriff of Hertfordshire, in the newly refurbished gardens. The Almshouses, originally established to house poor women, continue to provide accommodation for elderly residents with strong ties to the local area
