Battle of Britain Commemorative Service

Air Vice-Marshal Nick Kurth CBE DL was extremely pleased to represent the Lord Lieutenant at a Commemorative Service in Royston for the 86th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain. The Service was organised by the Royston Branch of the Royal Air Forces Association. Attendees included Christopher Walkinshaw DL (a Deputy Lieutenant from Cambridgeshire), Richard Hinchliff MP (MP for NE Royston) and a number of councillors.

Air Vice-Marshal Nick said, ‘It is important that we remember the sacrifices of the few – the battle was close run – and the consequence of it going potentially badly was profound. Significantly, many Commonwealth nations and other countries assisted the RAF during the successful Battle of Britain; their contribution was very important and will never be forgotten.’
