Emergency Services Day 2026

Deputy Lieutenant Deborah Taverner attended the Emergency Services Day, representing the Lord Lieutenant by invitation of Cllr Sandy Walkington, Chair of Hertfordshire County Council. The Day celebrates the amazing work of the emergency services. The event was held at Robertson House in Stevenage. There was a flag-raising ceremony and a minutes silence for those who have lost their lives in the line of duty. In attendance were Alex Woodman, Chief Fire Officer, ACC Jon Simpson, Hertfordshire Constabulary and Anna Rankin, High Sheriff of Hertfordshire.

Deborah said, “I really enjoyed meeting the service personnel and all the volunteers that make up our emergency services team. They represent the best of humanity.”
