Borough of Broxbourne Awards 2026
On 5th March 2026, Karen Trew DL attended the Borough of Broxbourne (BOB) Awards ceremony to celebrate the achievements of eleven community champions.
The winners were:
Adam and Alexandra Whiting – creating “As seen in Bury Green” community social media page
Alison Gordon and Leone Rayner – supporting voluntary arts sector
Barry Creasy – President of Goffs Oak Community Association
Kelly Matthews – co-founder of The James Foundation
Malcolm Briggs – Chair of the Wormley and Turnford Society
Marjorie Boulton – dedicated volunteer including for Love Hoddesdon, Friends of Barclay Park, Hertfordshire Zoo and Cancer Research
Pat Higgins – runs coffee mornings at St Mary’s Church
Sporting Aid CIC – offering free sports sessions for young people
Sheila Farmer – supports education and community through volunteering
Siobhan Ferrandes – founding member of Barclay Park parkrun
Jack Ferris – winner of Dame Marion Roe “Young Citizen of the Year” – a youth support worker who coaches grassroots youth football.
Music performances were from the U3A Choir and from the three winners of the Talents in Broxbourne competition – Annabelle Lewis (overall winner), Lewis Siebert and Brooke Doherty.
