Hertfordshire Christmas Dinner Party and Kwaheri Balozi Event

Enoch Kanagaraj BEM DL was honoured to represent the Lord-Lieutenant at the Kenyans in Hertfordshire Christmas Dinner Party and Kwaheri Balozi event, which also served as a farewell celebration for the outgoing Kenyan High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Her Excellency Catherine Kirumba Karemu.

The event brought together members of the Kenyan diaspora, community leaders, and guests from across Hertfordshire, including the mayor of Dacorum, Watford, and the wider Commonwealth. Enoch conveyed warm greetings on behalf of the Lord-Lieutenant and acknowledged the significant contribution of Commonwealth communities to the social, cultural, and diverse nature of Hertfordshire.

During his address and engagement with attendees, he spoke about the importance of Commonwealth relationships and shared values and highlighted county-wide initiatives such as Herts Together, which aims to strengthen unity, collaboration, and community cohesion across Hertfordshire. He also took the opportunity to recognise the leadership and service of Her Excellency Catherine Kirumba Karemu and her commitment to strengthening UK–Kenya relations.

The evening was well attended, respectful, and celebratory in nature, reflecting strong community pride and cohesion. The presence and representation of the Lord-Lieutenant was warmly received and deeply appreciated by both the organisers and attendees.
