The Association of Jewish Refugees (AJR) Plant Trees for the Queens Green Canopy
16th January 2022-The Lord-Lieutenant together with Lord Salisbury attended the planting of 2 oak trees in the grounds of Hertford Castle as part of the 80 trees being planted around the country by The Association of Jewish Refugees (AJR) and part of the Queens Green Canopy. The Lord-Lieutenant-himself a member of AJR- spoke of his own parent’s experience as refugees in Britain and heard the stories of Steven Franks and Peter Briess’s personal experiences of arriving in Britain as children.
