Holocaust Memorial Event, St Albans 2025

on 26th January 2025, the Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire Robert Voss CBE CStJ attended a holocaust event in the Masorti Synagogue, St Albans.

Family members of those impacted by the horrors of the holocaust told their stories, those that survived and sadly those that did not. The photo shows 98 year-old survivor  Kitty Hart-Moxon whose story was told by her son and daughter in-law. The Lord-Lieutenant told the story of his own family’s sad history in the holocaust, the Mayor of St Albans Jamie Day related the story of his mother-in law and Helen Singer told the story of her father and family.

The local MP Daisy Cooper and the High-Sheriff of Hertfordshire Annie Brewster related some of the other genocides around the world.

The poignant evening was punctuated with some music and operatic arias from the holocaust era.
