Coronavirus (COVID-19)
“At times such as these, I am reminded that our nation’s history has been forged by people and communities coming together to work as one, concentrating our combined efforts with a focus on the common goal”
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
“During these difficult days of the Covid-19 pandemic-there are some positives and certainly, the wonderful community spirit is one of the most important.
To the people of Hertfordshire who are committing their time and energy to help and support others in the local and wider community – a huge ‘thank you‘.
Whether you are in the front line or helping from your home – what you are doing is very much appreciated.”
Lord-Lieutenant Robert Voss CBE CStJ
“In these strange times it’s been hugely encouraging to see the response of people from every part of Hertfordshire to the Coronavirus pandemic and in particular, the way that new partnerships have been forged.
As with every crisis, there will be suffering and grief. However, as has been shown by Captain Tom Moore and the groundswell of support for medical and care workers, it also brings opportunities. We must not waste these opportunities to build stronger and better communities across Hertfordshire for the coming years – and we in the Church of England want to play our part in building that future.”
Bishop Alan St Albans
Following the sad loss of loved ones during Covid-19 lockdown, a book of remembrance has been opened for Hertfordshire residents to add the name of the deceased and a personal message to the book.
