Sandridge Parish Council plants trees for the Queen’s Green Canopy
The group picture shows John Hale (holding the tree) Chairman of Sandridge Parish Council, Councillor Annie Brewster, and Marion Brown DL. The tree was planted in Lyndon Mead Open Space, Sandridge as part of an ongoing planting project involving trees and hedgerows in the area. The project is run by volunteers who meet monthly. It was a wonderful morning attended by members of the local community and St Leonard’s Church, Sandridge where the Vicar Wendy Sellers shared a reading, prayers and reflection to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the accession of HM The Queen to the throne. The short ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
Marion Brown DL said – It was a great pleasure to participate in the planting on this historic day and to meet members of the community who are committed to leaving a legacy for generations to come.
