Watford and Three rivers Crucial Crew Initiative.

On Wednesday, 9th July 2025, Luther Blissett OBE DL joined over 600 Year 6 pupils from local primary schools at Watford Football Club’s Vicarage Road Stadium for the final day of the Crucial Crew workshops — a landmark initiative aimed at equipping young people with essential life-saving skills and awareness.

Coordinated by Child Safety Media and delivered in partnership with Hertfordshire Constabulary, the week-long programme has been supported by Three Rivers District Council and Watford FC, with multiple safety agencies lending their expertise. The workshops covered vital topics such as:

• Personal & Internet safety
• Fire awareness and home safety
• Knife crime & child criminal exploitation
• Mental wellbeing and active lifestyles
• First aid essentials, including CPR and the recovery position
• Risks associated with vaping and e-cigarettes
• Being a responsible citizen
