St Albans Cathedral Trust ‘Excellence for Everyone’ Launch

Annie Brewster DL JP was delighted to represent His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire at St Albans Cathedral to launch its Music Trust’s 30th Anniversary ‘Excellence for Everyone’ fundraising campaign with the ringing of a bell in the Lady Chapel following a spectacular Advent Procession service.

Unlike many other Cathedrals, St Albans does not benefit from a historical endowment, Royal patronage or Choir School to specifically support its music.  The St Albans Music Trust is a charity set up in 1995 and now chaired by Lionel Wallace DL.

It has set a target to raise £2.75m to support the Cathedral’s world class choirs, exceptional 4,500 pipe organ, its services, concerts and growing outreach in schools throughout Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire (the Diocese of St Albans).
