Royal British Legion Act of Remembrance for VJ Day in Hertford

On Friday 15th August, Mark Bretton MBE TD DL represented the Lord-Lieutenant at an Act of Remembrance for VJ Day in Hertford.

Mark  and his wife, Leah, attended the Royal British Legion Act of Remembrance for VJ Day at the War Memorial in Parliament Square, Hertford.Wreaths were laid on behalf of the Royal British Legion and St John’s Ambulance Brigade, followed by the reading of the Exhortation, a two-minute silence, and the Kohima Epitaph.

The event was attended by members of the Royal British Legion, the East Anglia Reserve Forces and Cadets Association, and the Mayor of Hertford, as well as a number of members of the public, all with their own personal reasons to remember and show their respect.
